Collaged Form

The lamps are meticulously handcrafted pieces, composed of various forms from plaster molds that are reshaped, altered, and collaged into a cohesive design. This inventive process ensures each lamp is entirely unique, serving as a conceptual critique of mass production. While plaster molds are typically used to create identical objects, Basso Pietrobon reimagines this approach by modifying the molded forms, assembling them into distinctive compositions, and crafting entirely new creations. Each lamp proudly displays marks that reveal the creative process, celebrates imperfection, and is personally hand-signed at the base.

Break the Mold

Break the Mold deconstructs and reimagine traditions of craft by subverting the ethos of mass production. For this project, I engaged old plaster molds.

Is a series of lamps, vases, and photographs.
Produced between the 1970s and 1990s that I found in the basement of my cousin’s ceramics factory.
